The pharmacy will provide you with support and advice for minor aliments and, if required/possible, treat them. This would save you having to visit your GP.

If the pharmacist cannot help you, they will refer you on to the relevant healthcare professional.

Benefits of this service

This service:

  • promotes self-care through the support, advice and treatment recommendations of a trained pharmacist without the patient needing to visit a GP or other healthcare professional
  • enables the patient to be referred when required
  • reduces pressures on GP practices who therefore have more capacity to treat more severe conditions

What our team do…

The pharmacist will provide patients with advice on managing the minor ailment, on the relevant and suitable treatment options and on self-managing the ailment through other means.

The pharmacist will refer the patient when required (e.g. when the patient requires medical attention).
